Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-04-26

These terms govern your use of Readbinder (the “Service”), operated by Leonardo Goulart (“we,” “us”). By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use it.

The Service

Readbinder is a personal reading tracker. You can use it without an account (data stored locally in your browser) or sign in to sync across devices. The Service is provided as-is and we may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it at any time.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 if you live in the EU/EEA) to use the Service. If you’re using it on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have the authority to bind it.

Your account

You’re responsible for keeping access to your email account secure, since that’s how you sign in. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

Your content

Anything you put into Readbinder — book titles, notes, tags, concept descriptions, cover URLs — is yours. You keep all rights to it. By using the Service you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service for you.

You’re responsible for the legality of what you store. Please don’t use Readbinder to store content that infringes someone’s rights, contains malware, is unlawful, or violates the rules below.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or automate the Service in ways that degrade it for others.
  • Probe, test, or breach the Service’s security or rate limits.
  • Use the Service to send spam, phish, or harass anyone.
  • Use the Service to store unlawful content or content that violates intellectual-property rights.
  • Resell or repackage the Service without our written permission.

Donations

Readbinder is currently free. Optional donations are processed by Buy Me a Coffee under their terms. Donations are voluntary, are not a payment for the Service, and don’t entitle you to additional features, prioritized support, or refunds.

Service availability

We try to keep the Service available but we don’t guarantee uptime. The Service may be unavailable during maintenance, due to third-party outages (Supabase, Vercel), or for reasons outside our control. Local-only mode keeps working when the cloud sync is down.

Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time. To delete your cloud data, email support@readbinder.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that pose a risk to the Service or other users.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT YOUR DATA WILL ALWAYS BE PRESERVED. KEEP YOUR OWN BACKUPS — Settings → Export everything downloads a JSON snapshot of your library at any time.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO USD 50 OR THE AMOUNT YOU’VE DONATED IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the Service or breach of these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes we’ll update the “last updated” date and, where reasonable, notify signed-in users by email. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law and forum

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. Any dispute arising from or related to these terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved by the courts of the comarca of Tanabi/SP, to the exclusion of any other, however privileged — except where mandatory consumer-protection rules grant the consumer the right to sue in their own domicile.
